William Henry Griffin

It is with great sadness the family of William (Bill) Henry Griffin announce his passing on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the age of 90 years. But his family rejoice in the fact Bill was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and will be with saints in Heaven with his Lord and Savior. We believe on his arrival he will be greeted with "Well done good and faithful servant." Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife, Eloise, of 70 years and his children, James, Russell, and Marlon. Also by his four grandchildren, Erin McHenry, Dennis, Crystal Smith, Ty, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Bill was a loving faithful husband, father, an ordained Baptist Minister, and a Veteran of WWII. Bill's work life was diverse to say the least. After an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1946 he began driving a truck from the produce fields to a packing house in Salinas, Calif. After some time he moved his family to Arkansas where he drove a cement truck for a while. Next he trained and became an Insurance Salesman for several years. In 1960 he moved his family to Farmersville, California. For a short while he drove a tractor plowing on the Boston Ranch west of Lemoore. Then he became a Singer Sewing Machine Repairman out of Farmersville. Next he owned and operated Bill's Shoe Repair Shop in Farmersville and at the same time, several days a week in early morning hours, he delivered milk to residents in Farmersville. Next he owned a fertilizer business for a couple of years, then drove for North American Van Lines moving people's belongings all across America, and even drove a school bus until he retired about 1998. A memorial service will be held at the Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel on Friday, December 29, 2017. The service will be from 4:00PM to 5:00PM. The Relatives and Friends who attend will be encouraged to share a favorite memory about Bill. The Veterans Administration has been most helpful with Bill the last few years and for those who would like to make a donation in his name, with his family's encouragement, do so to the American Veterans Aid located at 1717 W. Orangewood Ave., Ste. G, Orange, CA 92868. We, his family, so look forward to seeing each family member and friend at the William H. Griffin Memorial Service.
