Wesley Monroe Fulton

Wesley Monroe Fulton fought a hard fight but in the end Parkinson's and ALS won the battle. Wesley was received into heaven on September 13, 2023 in Visalia, CA at the age of 81. Wesley was born to Wesley G. Fulton and Iona Fulton on May 6, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. Wesley was raised in Southern California and graduated from James Monroe High School. After high school he moved to Tollhouse, CA where his parents had purchased a small Pub/Restaurant. He attended Reedley College, but then the Vietnam War started. Wesley joined the Army to fight for his country. After which he completed his education at College of the Sequoias. Through several different job opportunities, he learned many skills and applied them throughout his life. He was employed with Westinghouse in Visalia as a supervisor for 10 years. Little did he know that through a co-worker at Westinghouse he would become the Facilities Manager at Kaweah Delta Hospital for the next 15 years. Making many friends along the way. While working at Kaweah he met the love of his life, Elva Mayhue Eubanks. Wes and Elva were married for 35 years and were blessed to have a blended family of 2 boys and 2 girls, which grew into 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. Wes took great joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and teaching them some of the skills he had learned. Wes had a great love for cars and had many special ones over the years, not only refurbishing them for himself but for others. His British Green 1956 MGA was his favorite. Wes had many passions, not just cars, but also planes, woodworking/refurbishing, building and fixing just about anything. His love for cycling led him to compete in a mini triathlon and many century bike rides on weekends. His biggest accomplishment was The Whitney Classic which started in Bad Water (the lowest point in the United States) to the Portal of Mt. Whitney (the highest point in the United States) which he accomplished at the age of 50. Wes loved his Lord and Savior which led to many mission trips to Bogota, Honduras, Belize, Nome, Alaska and others in the United States. Wes built props for Vacation Bible School and helped at Grace Community Church on Wednesdays for many years. Wes is preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Iona Fulton, sister Margo Haynie, father-in-law Aubrey Mayhue, mother-in-law Ella Mayhue, brother-in-law Brice Mayhue and nephew David Haynie. He is survived by his wife Elva Fulton, his sons Kevin Fulton, Timothy Fulton (Carolyn), step-daughters Ronda Smith (Dan), Robin Butler, grandchildren Jacob Smith (Rainy), Shelbie Martin (Brad), Cole Smith (Hayley), Shane Butler, Vivian Fulton, Amelia Fulton, great grandsons Dustin Martin, Connor Martin, brother Mark Fulton (Julie) and many nieces and nephews I would like to give a special thank you to my friends Glenda Sundstrom and Sheri Leimbach for their endless hours of helping me take care of Wes. He had special care givers as well helping me care for Wes, Alexis Shelton, Brandon Krenk and Helen Cervantes. Because of family, friends and care givers I was able to care for Wes at home until he transcended into heaven. Wes wasn't only a wonderful husband, father and grandfather but he was my very best friend and I will miss him dearly. He touched many lives and will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Reception services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 26th, 2023 at Visalia Veteran's Memorial Building, 609 W Center Ave, Visalia.
