Thomas Padron

Tommy Padron was born on February 9, 1950 to Caroline and Fermin Padron. He was dedicated to the Lord at the Cutler Apostolic Church as an infant. Tommy grew up in the Cutler-Orosi area, attending Cutler Elementary and Orosi High School. His passion for music started at a very young age. He played with Uncle Daniel in the Latin Notes before he was of age. He was a percussionist playing drums for The Chantiers, Rare Earth, and The Spirals. His very first band was The Conchos in Cutler. Their debut was at a house party where they were paid in cupcakes. They were a close group, all good friends. As the Vietnam war had escalated, the draft was implemented. The guitar player for the Conchos was one of the first of his friends to be drafted and sent to war. He lost his young life fighting in Vietnam. That is when Tommy decided to enlist. He chose to join the Marines, the best of the best. He was proud to be a Marine and served in Vietnam. After his service, Tommy and the love of his life Lucy, made their home in Dinuba, CA. He worked for the Parks and Recreation Department. They were blessed with their first child Vanessa. The new family unit moved to Reedley, where he worked at the Fresno Airport as a Sky-Cap. Tommy and Lucy were blessed with their second daughter Melissa. The next chapter led them to Merced, CA where they resided for 16 years. He attended Merced College and became a drug and alcohol counselor. The family moved to Visalia where he resided until the Lord called him to rest in his eternal home. Tommy was an avid fisherman who loved the outdoors. He will be remembered by the nieces and nephews that he took fishing. They all learned how to bait a hook and cast a line. His health did not allow him to be outdoors and fish as much as he would have liked in recent years. Tommy will be always be remembered by doing it all, or nothing. Tommy lived his life doing it all. He is preceded in death by parents Caroline and Fermin Padron. Sisters Alice Felix, Sara Padron, Beaty Hernandez, and Anita (Pinky) Arnold. He is survived by loving wife Lucy, daughters Vanessa Padron and Melissa Padron, Granddaughter Ariana Campos, Great Granddaughter Aleia Varela. Brothers: Frank Padron, David Padron, and Jimmy Padron. Sisters: Linda Duarte and Bertha Fierro. Tommy loved God, his wife and family, his country, and the Marines. Semper Fi Memorial services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, August 25th, 2023 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia.
