Thelma Mary Lusk

Thelma Mary Lusk passed away peacefully on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, surrounded by her grandchildren. Thelma was born on August 4, 1937, in Eureka, California. She was devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who cherished her family. After marrying the love of her life Henry (Skeeter), they welcomed their son, Mark. She embraced her role as Ava to her grandchildren, Keith and Kaitlyn, with joy. Whether picking them up from school, treating them to meals at Wendy's or Applebee's, finding them the perfect Easter outfits, and of course attending their sporting events. As she became Ava to her great-grandchildren, Tiago and Brisa, her love only grew, and she continued to delight in every moment spent with them. Known fondly as Thelma Lou to her friends, she spent 25 years working at Gottschalks department store, where she built lifelong friendships. She later worked as a Bank Teller at Visalia Community Bank before retiring. You could always find her wearing her favorite color of purple and gold, with her hair styled and signature lipstick making a presence wherever she went. Thelma was also a devout Catholic who faithfully attended Saint Mary's Church every Saturday. Her deep faith was central to her life, and she passed peacefully, surrounded by those she loved, with the blessing of her beliefs. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 55 years, Henry "Skeeter" Lusk, and their son, Mark Lusk. Thelma is survived by her grandson, Keith (Sofia) Lusk; her great-grandchildren, Tiago and Brisa Lusk; her granddaughter, Kaitlyn Lusk; and her daughter-in-law, Kim Lusk. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family, but we find comfort in knowing that Thelma has been reunited with her God, and with those she cherished most-her beloved husband and son. Viewing will be held 4-6pm Sunday, January 11th, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia, with the Rosary to be prayed at 6pm. Graveside services will be held 11am Monday, January 12th, 2026 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
