Sylvia Elena Menchaca

On Saturday, October 23rd, 2021, Visalia, CA. Sylvia Menchaca, loving wife, mother of three children, and grandmother of fifteen, passed away at the age of 55. Sylvia was born on December 8th, 1965 in Tulare, CA to Jesus & Elodia Zuniga-Menchaca. Sylvia spent most of her life as a homemaker. She met Elias Prado in 1989 and loved and lived with Elias for 32 years. They raised one daughter, Marisa Menchaca, and two sons Daniel Perez and Angel Prado. Sylvia in the most recent years had a passion for selling jewelry. She was well known for her social media Facebook Live videos. All those who loved and supported her small business would tune in. Sylvia was a person who loved with all her heart. She was well known for helping those in need. Family or strangers she had just met, if you needed a place to stay or a home cooked meal, Sylvia would be the person to provide that for you. She will always be remembered for her charismatic personality and ability to leave an impression on everyone she met. She loved and lived for her family especially her grandchildren. She was the life of the party and will be missed dearly. Sylvia was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Menchaca, brothers Rolando Menchaca and Armando Menchaca, sister Graciela Benavidez, and nephew Oscar Payan. She is survived by her mother Elodia Menchaca, husband Elias Prado, daughter Marisa Menchaca, sons Daniel Perez and Angel Prado, fifteen grandchildren and her brothers Raul Banda, Jesus Menchaca, her sister Elodia Menchaca, and many nieces and nephews. We are forever grateful by all the love and support of everyone that has reached out to our family during this difficult time. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 14th at 4pm to 7pm at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. The Rosary, prayer to start at 6pm. Mass will be held 9am on Monday, November 15th 2021 at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church 199 N Pepper St., Woodlake CA. The burial to follow at 10am at Woodlake Public Cemetery, 165 N Cypress St., Woodlake, CA. A celebration of life will follow at 11am Woodlake Veterans Memorial Building 355 N Acacia St. Woodlake, CA.
