Silvestre Colmenero

With profound sadness and eternal love, we announce the passing of Silvestre Colmenero, a man who brought laughter, joy, and unwavering devotion to all who knew him. Silvestre departed this life peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and deep familial love. Silvestre was the cherished husband of Esther Colmenero, with whom he shared over 35 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. He was a devoted stepfather to Irene, Margarate, Gilbert, and Anna, and a proud grandfather to 16 grandchildren, including Rose, Selina, Gina, Carmen, Desiree, and Georgie, whom he raised and loved as his very own. His influence continued across generations with 34 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, each one holding a unique and special place in his heart. Silvestre was truly the life of the party. Whether dancing to music that stirred his soul or capturing every moment with his beloved disposable cameras-always managing to catch you mid-bite or mid-chew-his presence filled every room with joy and laughter. A hardworking man, Silvestre worked as a landscaper since the 1980s, laboring under the sun with pride and dedication. Despite long, hot days, he always found time to bring smiles to his family-swinging by the store for candy bars or packs of Mexican Chiclets, which he eagerly handed out to his grandkids and great-grandkids, especially Mauricio, David, Peter, Michael, Angel, and Maryjane, who lived with him from birth along with their mothers. No matter how tired he was, Silvestre always made time for his grandkids. He would bring out his treasured Mexican marionette puppets, affectionately known as "Grandpa's Cucarachita Dolls," and perform songs that filled their hearts with wonder and laughter. He was a man of strong values and deep wisdom. His famous saying, "Stay in de line," was more than a phrase-it was a call to live with integrity, love, and unity. Silvestre believed in the power of family, the importance of doing right by one another, and the grace of forgiveness. Though he is no longer with us in body, Silvestre's spirit will forever live on through the stories, memories, and love he left behind in all of us. We honor his life, his legacy, and the countless moments he gifted us with his light. Rest in peace, Grandpa. You will be missed, celebrated, and remembered-always.
