Silas T Boykin

Silas T. Boykin, a loving father, proud veteran, and man of faith, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and service. Born on August 26, 1947, in Jackson, Mississippi, to the late Joseph and Ruby (Mitchell) Boykin, Silas was one of six brothers raised with strong values and a deep-rooted commitment to family and faith. Silas attended grammar and high school in Jackson, Mississippi where he laid the foundation for a life defined by integrity and hard work. After graduating, he answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1965. He served with honor during the Vietnam War and completed his service in 1969. Shortly after his military service, Silas met and married Thelma Jean Quarker. The two were united in marriage and shared 40 wonderful years together. Silas worked as a truck driver for over 40 years, traveling locally and across the country. He retired in 2022, leaving behind a reputation for reliability and a strong work ethic. Outside of work, Silas was known for his love of jazz music, spending time in the mountains cutting wood, fishing, horses, and working on his ranch. He was an avid outdoorsman. A faithful servant of God, Silas found joy in fellowship with friends and the simple pleasures of life. He is survived by Thelma Boykin; his children, Katrina Johnson, Keyon Boykin, Isaac Boykin, and Lawrence Boykin; grandchildren, Jason, Jeannae, and Jamerra Carmichael, Alisha, Isaiah, Devonte, Dashawn, and Desmarie Boykin; and great-grandchildren, Amaira Duran, Quinton Boykin, Kevin Bynoe Jr, and Normani Carmichael. He also leaves behind his brothers George Boykin and Timothy Evans, along with extended family members, friends, and former co-workers who were touched by his kindness and spirit. Silas T. Boykin's life was a testament to love, service, and steadfast faith. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 at Restoration Ministry, 1144 N Sumter Ct, Visalia. Service Of Remembrance services will follow at 12:00 PM.
