Shauna L. VanDeMark

Shauna Leigh VanDeMark, 45 of Visalia, California passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. Shauna was born on October 27, 1975 to Randy VanDeMark and Deborah Heemstra, in Visalia, California. Shauna grew up in Porterville and Tulare, California where she went to school. After she graduated from Tulare Union High School, she continued her education at College of the Sequoias and then Fresno State where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Criminology. Shauna always worked hard and did well in school, so much so that she once said if she could go to school and be a Student as a career she would. She had always been interested in the justice system and briefly worked as a Paralegal. She went on to work for the Tulare County Probation Department as a Juvenile Probation Officer, where she met some of her lifelong friends. Shauna then went on to work at the Central Valley Regional Center in 2004, where she continued to work until she passed. She loved CVRC and was dedicated to the work she did there. At the time that Shauna passed, she lived in Visalia, with her partner Raul Marroquin and their Labrador Rocco. Shauna enjoyed spending time with Rocco, and all her nieces and nephews. In their spare time Shauna and Raul would go for drives in his 1968 Volkswagen Bug, and his truck. She enjoyed bug rides with their local community of VW owners, participating and going to car shows. Shauna also was a lifelong Raider fan, thanks to her Dad and hardly ever missed watching a game. She enjoyed camping during the summer and trips to the beach as often as she could. But the most important thing in life to Shauna was her family. She was a rock to so many and touched people's lives and hearts throughout her life. She wanted to help everyone she could and wanted nothing more than her family to do well and be well. She was encouraging, nurturing, and had a big and caring heart. Shauna never missed a birthday or the holidays with her family, it was so important to her. She was a loving daughter, sister, friend, aunt, and partner. We are all devastated and heartbroken by her sudden and unexpected passing. We will all miss her laugh, smile and her big blue eyes. She will be forever missed and loved. Shauna leaves behind her partner Raul Marroquin, her mother Deborah Heemstra, and her partner Larry Mattos. Her father Randy VanDeMark, and step-mother Kae VanDeMark. Her sister, Nicole Allen, fianc� Michael Huerta, and their daughter Sophia. Sister Brook Vyatkova, husband Aleksey, and their twins Katya and Dmitry. Her brothers William Allen, Blake VanDeMark, and Brandon VanDeMark. In addition to many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all whom she loved dearly. Shauna was preceded in death by her Gram Lilly VanDeMark, her Gramp Don VanDeMark, her Grandfather Orlan Heemstra, and her Grandmother Joyce Heemstra. The viewing is January 10, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel located at 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia, CA 93277. Funeral and graveside services are private at the request of her family. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
