Ryan David Kroonenberg

Ryan David Kroonenberg came into this world on Good Friday, April 16, 1976, in Denver, Colorado. He came home on Easter Sunday to his parents Ronald & Debra (Hofstee) Kroonenberg. Denver is where the majority of his Kroonenberg aunts, uncles and cousins still live and where he developed his unwavering loyalty to Bronco football. In 1982, the family moved to Visalia where they were surrounded by the Hofstee aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ryan started school at Central Valley Christian and was one of the first to attend from kindergarten through his graduation, in 1994. He always spoke fondly of working on the dairy, playing with cousins, and fixing cars with his brother Chris and friends. Ryan loved being part of a team, excelling in baseball and football all through high school. Upon graduation Ryan went to work for Soult's Pumps and then the Friant Water Users company. While at Friant, he worked his way up to head equipment operator and thanks to co-workers developed a love of deep-sea fishing. 2003 was a big year for Ryan; he married his best friend, Julia Niles, and started his own crane service. His first crane arrived the week after their honeymoon. Ryan's success was due to his magnetic personality and positive attitude, along with his expert problem-solving skills and strong work ethic. In a matter of years, Kroonenberg Crane Service grew from one truck mounted 30-ton boom crane to a large multi-crane service. He loved the challenge of figuring out how to get something done and being able to help his customers and the community. He truly cherished the relationships he made over his construction career. In 2019, he made the hard decision to sell his company. He loved being the guy his customers could count on 24/7, but at the same time, realized he only had so much time with his boys at home. Trusting the Lord and putting family first, he made it his mission to make up for all the missed vacations and quality time. These last five years, Ryan packed in as much fun, love and quality time as possible. He loved making people smile, whether with a joke, a helping hand or good food. He was a devout Christian and intentional in his conversations with his boys, Grant, and Kevin. When he received his cancer diagnosis, he was at peace with it. "I know where I'm going. I know I will see you and the boys there. I have no doubt of their faith in the Lord." To the very end he had a smile, a joke, and a positive attitude. He loved the Lord and was a good and faithful servant. We can rejoice in the knowledge that we will see him again. A Celebration of Ryan's life will be held, 11am April 13th, 2024, at Central Valley Christian School Chapel, 5600 W. Tulare Ave., Visalia, followed by a light lunch. Ryan's one request was for the men to wear shorts and flip flops, his retirement uniform.
