Rudy Lynn York

Rudy Lynn York was born on March 2, 1952 in Lubbock, Texas. He entered eternal life November 29, 2015 in Fresno, CA. He is survived by his parents Cleo and Mary Jane York of Tulare; 3 sisters Deborah Clampit and husband Scott of Coeur de Lane, Idaho, Oma Tilley and husband Rod of Oceano, CA and Cleona Tilley and husband Greg of Tulare, CA; one brother Eric (Toby) York and wife Kerrie of Tulare, CA. He had 9 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Rudy loved them all. Rudy was bigger than life with an even bigger heart of gold. His love for animals was so special, he would take in any stray and give them such love and compassion. Rudy’s life had been interesting and quite adventurous. It was wonderful to sit and listen to all his stories he would tell. He was so creative with such imagination. It shined in every way, in his art, his hair styling, decorating, cooking, but his story telling helped make life more interesting. Anyone who ever met Rudy was touched in some way with his presence. He was loved by his family and friends. He grew up in Pixley and when he graduated from Tulare Union High School, he spread his wings and moved to San Francisco. He later moved to Fresno where he worked as a hair dresser at Joseph’s Hair Salon, living a very colorful life. He moved back to Pixley where he opened a hair salon with his sister Cleona. Even though he was a fabulous hair stylist his passion was always his painting. Rudy painted all over the Valley and more along with his sister Deborah. He became quite famous and since he was such a story teller he might have told you he had painted for the Queen of England while sipping tea. That was Rudy. He was a trail blazer and made life such a better place. Rudy was residing in Tulare and became a caregiver for his parents and even when he got too sick he still tried to help. Rudy will be deeply missed but Heaven gained another Angel. We love you Rudy. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel. A gathering will follow after the service at the Claude Meitzenheimer Community Center, 830 S. Blackstone Tulare, CA. A memorial tribute may be offered by logging onto www.salseranddillard.com
