Ronald - Willenborg

Ronald Andrew Willenborg, age 68, of Visalia, California, suffered a massive heart attack while working and departed this world unexpectedly on Saturday, May 21st. Ron was born to Andrew Joseph Willenborg and Juanita Spencer Willenborg in Waco, Texas, on October 18, 1947. The family moved to Visalia, California when he was nine years old. While attending Mt. Whitney High School he discovered his love for music and began playing drums professionally in a surf band. His love for music continued throughout his life and he expanded his skills to include playing guitar and bass guitar, both electric and acoustic, and singing lead and harmony. Ron continued to play professionally, but often donated his time to various fundraisers and played at various local churches. He attended College of the Sequoias and completed his bachelor's degree in business at Fresno State. He was an assessor for Tulare County and continued to expand his knowledge by taking many continuing education courses in his field. He then opened his own business as a real estate appraiser over 40 years ago and after completing many education courses he achieved the highest appraisal level as a licensed general appraiser. Ron has been a member of the Happy Trails Riding Academy Board and assisted in fundraising for many years. Ron is survived by his wife Charlotte and four children: April Willenborg-Heinz and her husband Edward Heinz, Andrew Willenborg, Sean Greer, and Lisa Marshall and her husband Trevor and grandson Brandon Marshall. He is also survived by his sister Dianne Harrison and her husband Dennis and two nephews, Joel and Graham. Visitation will be held at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel from 3 to 8 pm on Monday, May 30th with recitation of the Rosary at 6 pm and eulogies at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 31st at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10 am with interment to follow at the Visalia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Happy Trails Riding Academy.
