Robert Louis Shandra

Robert Louis Shandra was born on February 17, 1958 in Glendale California to Mary Lea Dodson and Angelo Joseph Shandra. He spent his childhood in the foothills of Los Angeles seeking adventure with his 2 brothers and close friends. During his junior year of high school his family relocated to Visalia California, a move that would change his life forever. It was there that he met the love of his life, Patty, whom he would later marry in 1983 at St Mary's Catholic church. Over the next 42 years they built a beautiful life together which came to include a daughter Laura Rose and later a son Anthony Joseph and so many wonderful friends. Bob was asked what his secret was to a long and happy marriage and his answer was, he always said I Love You and he made Patty laugh everyday. Bob graduated from Sequoia High School in 1976 and would go on to pursue a long career in the building trades. After gaining experience with several construction companies he fulfilled a lifelong dream by starting his own construction and repair company. His craftsmanship, dedication to detail and pride in his work were evident in every project he touched. As anyone who knew Bob knew his favorite word was "NO". Yet he lived a life overflowing with fun and adventure, laughter and unforgettable memories. He loved riding motorcycles, watching races and UFC fights and indulging his curiosity for all things alien and big foot. But above all his greatest joy in life was his three beautiful granddaughters, Alana, Scarlett and Sofia who filled his life with endless happiness and love. His memory will live on through his wife and best friend Patty, daughter Laura Johnson(Jake), son Anthony Shandra(Shaylyn) their daughters, Bob's Granddaughters, Alana, Scarlett and Sofia, his sister Anna Paddock(Joe) and his nephews Dominic and Vincent and his brother in law Michael Detimore and the many extended family and friends who will keep his memory in their hearts. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
