Richard Francis Harris

Richard "Rick" Harris, age 50 from Visalia was tragically taken from us on the morning of September 19,2021. Richard was born September 18,1971 in Taunton Massachusetts to Francis James and Shirley Ann Harris. Anyone who was blessed enough to know him truly met an amazing soul. His smile was infectious and no matter what you were going through at the at the time, Rick would always do his best to make your day brighter. He was the true definition of someone who would give the shirt off his back. His selflessness was seen every day and so many of us will never forget how many times he came to our rescue in a time of need. Whether it was to help us move, fix our cars, emergency decoration runs for one of his nieces or nephews, or simply to give you a ride because you needed one. Rick was always there. Rick was famous for his "l got you something "line. He was always thinking about other people and how he could show his love. In his daily adventures, he would always find something for someone else, that was one of his ways of saying I love you. From office trinkets and Christmas gifts in August to antique cameras and candy bars or the occasional protein bar on your desk when you arrived at work in the morning. Let's not forget his famous big teddy bear hugs, he was always there to give when needed. Rick attended Redwood High school. Rick held many jobs over the years, most recently the service manager for Kerman Mobile Homes Inc. He worked part time on the weekends at the Sinclair market. He was very social, loved his regular customers and enjoyed meeting new people. Rick also worked for California Dairies for some time. Through the years Rick held second jobs in the evenings bartending at the Visalia Holiday Inn, the Visalia Radisson and many years at the Visalia Elks Lodge, he loved bartending and the lifelong friends he met along the way. Rick was preceded in death by his father Francis James Harris and His Nephew Daniel Scott Bissonnette. Survivors include his Mother Shirley Harris of Visalia, Brother Daniel Reed & wife Mary of Bend Oregon, Sister Janet Zirpolo & husband Joe of Davenport Florida, Sister Laurie Rachunok & husband Mark of Fort Mill South Carolina, Sister Kelly Harris-Gonzalez & husband JR of Visalia. Rick had a very special place in his heart for all his Nieces and Nephews as follows, Kenneth Reed, Sarah Reed, Annette Martinez, Julie Torres, Earl Robinson, Brittnee Regnetta, Joseph & Alyssa Rachunok, Rachael & Thomas Higgins, Emory, Jameson and Ruby Higgins, Janelle Gonzalez, Julia Gonzalez and a very special young lady Kaylee Avila who was like a daughter to Rick. Last but certainly not least his Nephew Shawn Harris with whom he had a very special bond. The family invites everyone who loved Rick to please join us in celebrating his life 3pm Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Visalia Elks Lodge.
