Ricardo Rios Balderas

Ricardo R. Balderas was born on February 14, 1955, in Eagle Pass Texas to Nicolas and Natalia Balderas. His family moved to Visalia in 1967. Ricardo attended schools in Visalia, graduating from Redwood High School and Fresno State University. On December 29, 1973, Ricardo married Fe Esperanza Arevalo & together they had 3 beautiful children. Ricardo started his law enforcement career with the Farmersville Police Department. He then continued to the California Highway Patrol; Baldwin Park Division, out of Los Angeles CA. He was later assigned to the Porterville CHP office, where he worked till his retirement. Ricardo was living in Visalia and visiting his son Jr. in Arroyo Grande, quite often. It was there where he spent his last days at the time of his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, his youngest brother Eddie Balderas and his nephew Albert {Bubbas} Balderas. Ricardo is survived by his children, Rick Balderas Jr; Arroyo Grande, Andrew Manuel Nicolas Balderas & Wife Silvia Balderas; Visalia, Natalia DeLeon & Husband Frank DeLeon; Porterville. His siblings: Albert (Yolanda) Balderas; Visalia, Bertha (Joe) Juarez; Visalia, Maria (Ruben) Rios; Santa Maria and Dora Serrano; Visalia. Ricardo's Grandchildren held a very special place in his heart. His grandchildren always managed to get their way with him. Somehow "Sheleste" was able to dig deepest and get him to do things others couldn't. Grandchildren: Samantha, Daniel, Ricky, Aubrey, Kennedy, Carlos, Sapphire, Sheleste, Ray Daniel, Jovina, Issac, Skye, Star, Leah and Liam. Great grandchildren: "Pancho", Josiah, Samantha, Giovanni, Aria, Leonidas, Everly and one on the way. Ricardo loved visiting his son Jr. at the coast and watching the sunrise at the beach. Ricardo had a passion for guns, trading cards and Hot Wheels. On Saturday and Sundays, you could find him at the swap meet Wheeling and Dealing with his cards and Hot Wheels. He also loved to go out and eat and experience new foods, especially his sweets! He was so proud of his family, they were his Greatest Love. He enjoyed getting together with his brother and sisters whenever possible. Ricardo will be missed by his family, his many nephews and nieces and his countless friends. He had one friend that he loved like a brother, a friendship that lasted over 40 years, Joe Ontiveros. Friends till the end. He Will Always Be in Our Hearts!
