Rafaela Del Carmen Ponce De Salmeron, age 61 passed away peacefully after a tough battle with Cholangiocarcinoma and Interstitial Lung Disease in CCMC Clovis Ca. June 1, 2023 7:35pm with children along bedside. Carmen was born to Fausto Joel Ponce Barragan and Maria Christina Bazan Loyola on a beautiful Tuesday of October 24, 1961 and raised in Huajuapan distrito, San Marcos Arteaga, Oaxaca, Mexico. Carmen shared the same dream with other immigrants of coming into the US and living the American Dream. In the year of 1978 she set off to make her dreams come true. She settled in the small town of Coalinga, Ca where she met a handsome young man named Jose Antonio Salmeron. Through the course of 9 years they purchased their first home and had 3 beautiful children Jose A Salmeron jr. (1982), Roberto Salmeron (1985) and beloved daughter Patricia Salmeron (1988). Carmen worked for Denny's restaurants for over 25 years as a waitress. She loved meeting new people and just making their day. Her beloved customers request her by name and wouldn't have it any other way. In the Year of 1995 our parents purchased a second home and relocated our family to Visalia, Ca. Here we met a dear friend named Juan V Blancas who was always in our refrigerator and eventually became a part of our growing family. Our parents taught us how to work hard, be kind to others, and to have faith in our lord Jesus Christ. And showed us that dreams do come true. Carmen is survived by Patricia Salmeron (beloved daughter), Jose A. Salmeron jr, Silvia (wife), Liyah (19), Andrew (16), Jonathan (9) (children / grandchildren). Roberto Salmeron, Salyna (wife), Luna De Carmen (2 months), Elianna (2), Madalynn (10) (children / grandchildren). A special Thank You to Silvia for all you have done, I know Mom is proud of you. Querida Madre You are truly a dream chaser. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday, June 13th, 2023 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1908 N. Court St., Visalla. Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, June 14th, 2023 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
