Phillip Gregory Rich

March 4, 1984 - March 18, 2023 It is with deep sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Phillip Gregory Rich. On March 18th, just 14 days after his 39th birthday, he was taken by unexpected health complications. Our family is devastated and shocked to the core by this loss. Phillip was born on March 4, 1984 in Visalia, CA to his extremely proud parents Catherine and Dennis Rich. Phillip was their miracle child. His parents described him as abundantly loving, intelligent, protective, and an endlessly caring older brother. Phillip spent the first two years of his life in Hume Lake, and grew up in Elderwood, where he lived an adventurous, homeschooled childhood full of priceless memories and continuous laughter, before relocating to Visalia in junior high where he attended public school for the first time. He went on to graduate from Golden West High School in 2002, where he enjoyed choir, theater, and started his first band. Phil's biggest passion in life was music. An avid guitar player and punk rock fan, he spent countless hours with friends practicing and playing shows with his band all around the central valley. When Phillip wasn't playing the guitar, he could be found immersed in video games. Phillip welcomed his first child, his mini-me, Ethan Parker in 2005, of whom he was immensely proud. Nine years later, he welcomed Sydney (Button) Elizabeth, his precious baby girl, who had him wrapped around her little finger. He pursued his passion of barbequing and cooking by studying the culinary arts, which he insisted on sharing every chance he got with those he loved. Later, he followed in his father's footsteps working for Central Valley Sweeping. He went on to work for Cerutti & Sons Transportation for several years expanding his skills including adding estimates and dispatching, before finding success and happiness as a dispatcher for Chad's Trucking. Phillip is survived by his mother Catherine and father Dennis Rich. His brothers Dennis Jr., Mark, Benjamin, and sisters Juliana, Rebecca and Catherine. He is also survived by his beloved children Ethan and Sydney Rich. The memory of Phil will forever be embodied as unapologetically authentic, a friend to the friendless, a brother to the brotherless, and a non stop lover of ALL, near or far. Services will be held at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel in Visalia on Saturday, April 8 at 2:00 pm followed by a gathering of friends, location TBD.
