Peggy LeJeane Strickland

Peggy Strickland, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 9th, 2023, at the age of 81. She was born on May 5th, 1941, in Macomb, Oklahoma, and lived a life filled with love and cherished memories. Peggy retired as a Dispatcher Supervisor for the California Highway Patrol, where she dedicated her career to serving the community with professionalism and compassion. She was known for being steadfast, calm, helpful, and generous, having a "can do" attitude and an unwavering commitment to her work. Peggy's oldest daughter, Patricia, tragically passed away less than a week after Peggy's death. The family is still dealing with this double loss, and their grief is profound. Peggy is survived by her other two children, Michael (Simone) Alvarez of Germany, and Teri Percy of Utah. She was a devoted mother who always put her children first and showered them with love and care. Peggy was a doting grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and she treasured the time she spent with them, creating countless precious memories that will always be cherished. Apart from her professional accomplishments and role as a loving mother and grandmother, Peggy had many hobbies and interests. She was an avid gardener; her green thumb could transform any space into a blooming paradise. She had a passion for music and enjoyed singing casually with her family as well as professionally on and off for over a decade. Peggy's favorite thing in life was spending time with family. She treasured family gatherings, holidays, and celebrations, and her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Her selflessness, kindness, and unconditional love touched the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will forever be treasured. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Friday, May 5th, 2023 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Graveside services will be held 1:30 PM Friday, May 5th, 2023 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
