Patricia Ann Afolabi

Patricia Afolabi was born on Jan 2nd 1952 in Brownsville Tn to Mary Reed-Palmer. Patricia was the oldest of 8 children. At the age of 3, she moved to Los Angeles where she attended Elementary school until the 5th grade. At the young age of 13, she had her first child Charlotte Reed in December 1965. With the help of her Mother and Grandmother Fannie Mae, she was able to love and care for her child. Her and her family then moved to Oakland , Ca where they set off to begin a new life. Patricia continued her education at Laney College shortly before having her second child Jacquline Reed in April 1974. Patricia loved her family. She loved to laugh, dance and have fun. As her children got older and started to have children of their own, Patricia devoted herself to being a grandmother. Her first granddaughter, Roshanda Ashley was born in June 1988. In December 1988, her first grandson Richard Fleming was born. Patricia committed her life into raising her grandchildren. She cared for them as if they were her own. In 1994 she and her family moved to Tulare, Ca. She worked at Able Industries and Dollar Tree for a brief time before she became disabled. She had 8 more grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart. She was such a vibrant and outgoing person. Everyone who came in contact with her, loved her. She moved to Visalia in 2005 where she met her "Sis" Gerri. They instantly became best friends and completely inseparable. Patricia was the definition of Love. Patricia took care of her Granddaughter Roshanda Ashley since she was 3 days old. Many would think she was her Mother, because their bond was so strong. Patricia Ann Reed-Afolabi will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Proceeded in death by her mother Mary Palmer and Brothers Charles Edward Reed, Willie Reed, and Johnny "Sparky" Palmer. Sister Ola Mae Palmer. She is survived by her sisters Diane Palmer, Jeannie Palmer, and Katherine Palmer. She is survived by her Daughters Charlotte Reed, 52, Jacqueline Reed, 45. Her Grandchildren Roshanda Ashley 31, Richard Fleming 30, Jumanji Reed 22, Joevon Reed 22, Angelina Patterson 18, Sirworrian Fleming 9, Precious Alexander 8. Great Grandchildren Patrick Wade 6, Knijay Wade 4. And a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and loved ones. A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel at 11AM. Condolences can be made to www.salseranddillard.com
