Odilia Fierro Nunez

Odilia (Lila) Nunez, loving wife, mother and grandmother was called to her final resting place on February 24, 2025. She was 81 years old. Lila was born to Martin and Paz Fierro in Van Horn, Texas. She had 6 siblings. Lila would often share that she got away with not having to do chores since she was the youngest daughter, and tagging along with her older siblings was something she treasured growing up. Lila married the love of her life, Edmundo Nunez in February 1964. They had just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Together they loved and raised their two boys, Louis and Carlos. In the mid 60's, the family moved from Texas to Van Nuys, Ca. It is there where she met her best friend, Sylvia. In the early 70's they left the busy city life and moved to Visalia. Lila worked for EM Industries, Visalia Community bank and was a caregiver for several families. The family attended Holy Family Church, before making St. Mary's their home church. It is during this time that they met several close friends who became more like family. Lila was strong in her faith and loved God. Her sons were her greatest accomplishments. However, becoming a grandmother filled her heart with pure gratitude. Lila studied karate. She challenged herself with Sudoku puzzles, and watching Hallmark movies was a favorite pastime. She enjoyed dancing, sharing a glass of wine with friends, and would light up a room with her beautiful smile. She was a lady to admire, and she was respected by all who knew her. If her grandchildren were involved in a sporting event or an awards ceremony, Lila was there celebrating and cheering them on. Lila shared stories of her childhood. These stories brought her joy remembering her parents and how much she loved them. Lila was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Amalia and Dora, and two brothers, Carlos and Miguel. Lila is survived by her beloved husband, Mundo. Her sister, Josephine and brother, Enrique. Her sons Louis (Kathy) and Carlos (Pamela). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Chassity, Blake, Dominick, Skilar, Preslee, Madison and Morgan. Her great grandchildren: Kaleb, Aria, Shawnee, Cayden, Cannon, Crew and Bria, as well as many nieces and nephews. We are certain Lila was greeted into Heaven by her family, and imagine she is dancing with her younger brother, as they are all rejoicing together again. Visitation will be held 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 19th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 10:30 AM Thursday, March 20th, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church Street, Visalia. Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM Thursday, March 20th, 2025 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Join us for a celebration of life luncheon at 303 W Kimball Court Community at 2 pm. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
