Nicole Marie Peters

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful daughter, sister, mother and friend Nicole Marie Peters on March 29, 2023. She was born at the local hospital in Visalia, CA on December 8, 1977. In Visalia, she attended the local schools and swam competitively starting with the Waves Club Team and then with the Redwood High School Swim Team. She also loved to perform. Nicole started at a young age with ballet and tap dance. Later, she acted in the local Children's, Green Acres and Redwood High School drama and musical productions. After graduating from high school in 1996, she attended San Diego State University and Culinary Arts School in Los Angeles. There she met the father of her three children. They married in 1998 and they moved back to Visalia to raise their family. They divorced in 2013. As her children became older, she entered the food service industry where she worked for 15 years plus earning her way to becoming a manager at multiple businesses. She met her significant other, Stephen Sobko in 2014. They created a beautiful life and home together where they would entertain family and friends with delicious meals and freshly baked sourdough bread lovingly prepared by Nicole. One of their favorite things to do together was to travel the state and especially visit the wine counties of the Central Coast along with Napa and Sonoma Valleys. Nicole with her brilliant, beautiful smile which would light up every room, along with her sense of humor and spirited personality will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her significant other Stephen Sobko, her three estranged adult children Coen, Nathaniel and Madeline, her parents John and Suzette Peters, bother Jay (Ellie), a niece (Emma) and nephew (Jack), paternal grandmother Betty Peters, maternal grandfather Warren Short, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and last but not least, her canine buddy and love Bruce. A Celebration of Nicole's life will be held on May 27, 2023 at the Visalia Elks Lodge, located at 3100 W Main St, Visalia, CA beginning at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Nicole's name can be given to the Visalia Rescue Mission Women's House of Hope. Visalia Rescue Mission, 741 N Santa Fe Street Visalia, CA 93292.
