Nathan Conner Oliva-Cano

On May 7th, 2023, Nathan Conner Oliva-Cano, of Visalia, passed away unexpectedly. Nathan was a Mt. Whitney Senior and Varsity Football Player. He was three weeks away from graduating when he passed. The loss of Nathan has sent shockwaves through the friends, family, teachers, and coaches that were blessed enough to have known him. Nathan had plans to pursue a career as a firefighter after graduation. Nathan dedicated himself to working and saving money, never calling out and always picking up any available extra shifts. When asked why he worked so much, Nathan would respond, "Gotta take care of my Mom and my brother". This type of selfless love would be demonstrated time and time again through the relationships Nate had with those who loved him. Those closest to him described him as "home", that place where you can be the most real version of yourself, a place of safety and a place of comfort. Nathan was taken from this world before he could fulfill the destiny he and others envisioned for him. Now, he will fulfill a new destiny, a destiny that is reflective of the life he lived. He will continue to teach us kindness, loyalty, and love for others through our memories of him. Through our actions, we can keep Nathan's spirit alive and be a part of helping him fulfill this destiny. Every time we choose to be loyal, forgiving, and selfless with others, we honor Nathan's life and carry his message to others. In those times where we feel hollow and broken, we can invoke our beautiful memories of him and just for a moment, feel like we are home. Nathan is preceded in death by his Father Eraldo "Nene" Cano and survived by his Mother Christinna Nichole Oliva, Brother Nicholas Art Oliva, Grandmother's Sue Ellyn Altamirano and Rosa Cano and Grandfather Thomas Oliva Jr. Nathan's life will be honored in a service taking place June 3rd at 10:00 am at Neighborhood Church in Visalia CA. Please come and pay tribute to this beautiful boy, and celebrate the time, although short, that we were lucky enough to have with him. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
