Misael Antonio Aguayo

Misael Antonio Aguayo was born on March 4th, 1983 in Upland, Ca to Misael and Jenny Aguayo. He passed away on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023 at the age of 40. Misael dreamed of being a police officer as a child and through years of dedication, he was able to see those dreams become reality. He was a Tulare Police Department Explorer in his teens and later was hired as a Community Service Officer. In January of 2006, he was sworn in as a police officer for the Tulare Police Department. Officer Aguayo had 18 years with TPD, which included being the longest standing member of SWAT, a K9 Officer, a Gang Detective, a School Resource Officer, and most recently began a new assignment as a Homeless Assistance Liaison Officer. Known as Mase to his many friends, he loved to golf, travel with his family, and go on guys' trips. Nothing brought him as much joy as watching his kids play sports, he was always their loudest supporter. He was a dedicated Dodgers and Cowboys fan. He had the best sense of humor, biggest smile and was always making everyone laugh. Mase was a hard worker, a family man, and would do anything for anyone. Misael is survived by his two sons Michael Misael Aguayo (Brittney Gilbert) and Matthew Anthony Aguayo (Veronica Renteria). For the last nine years, he made his home with Brittney Gilbert and her two children KaiLee and RyLee Gilbert. He is also survived by his loving parents, his sisters Izel Hernandez, her husband Jose, Selenia Boyer, her husband Greg, and his nephews and nieces: Adriyn, Adisyn, Dylan, Lincoln, and Adam. We have peace in knowing that he is now wrapped up in the arms of the Lord and we take comfort in knowing how many lives he touched. Misaelito, you were loved unconditionally and we will never stop missing you. Mijo, Brother, Toto, Mase, and his favorite title, Dad. Until we are together again. Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, April 17th, 2023 at Tulare Community Church, 1820 North Gem St., Tulare. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
