Mike Robert Saldana

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Father Mike Robert "Bobby" Saldana on June 18th, 2022 at the age of 67, in the comfort of his home with loved ones. Our father battled many health issues for 20 years, but that never limited our Father, he was a fighter and had a strong will to live. Mike was born on July 16th, 1954 to Rose Salgado and Domitilo Saldana in the city of Tulare, California. He attended Visalia schools were he meet his beautiful supportive loving wife of 50 years Lupe Alderete, they married in August 1972 then moved to Visalia where they raised 5 children, whom he loved with his whole heart! Our father was beyond spoiled by our Mom, she would cook him homemade flour tortillas on demand along with her infamous rice and beans, he would refuse to eat a store bought tortilla! Our Father was a exceptional fabricator, he excelled in his craft, which was paint & body work and upholstery. He was a classic automobile enthusiast and could tell you all the facts about any classic car. Mike loved going to car shows in Pomona with his buddies, whether it was buying parts, selling a fixer upper or eating and looking! He was a avid collector of coins, guns, jewelry, model Nascars & Tiffany lamps. Like most men, our Dad loved tools but his tools had to be MAC or Snap-on tools no exception! Win or lose he was a faithful Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved playing jokes on his kids, cracking jokes at the oddest times, offering unlimited advice on safety and life and could make you laugh like crazy. He was the biggest fan of all Clint Eastwood movies. He especially enjoyed listening to oldies while working in his man cave. One of his favorite songs ever was "Ain't no sunshine", by Bill Withers, when that song came on he would higher the radio and start singing. He always kept it 100% with all who knew him! He was a man of pure knowledge, a Jack of all trades! There wasn't nothing he couldn't do, make or fix! Our father will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, he had a way of leaving a impression on your heart! A special thank you to all the nurses,Doctors and healthcare staff at KDDH that cared for our father over the last 20 years, thank you for your commitment, we are extremely grateful. Dr. Shashi Sharma, Dr. Havard , Dr Raymn Verma thank you for being compassionate, dedicated and sincere & all the Drs at Cedar Sinai. He is survived by his loving wife Lupe Saldana, sons Michael Saldana and Eric Saldana, daughters Samantha Saldana, Victoria Gomez and spouse David Gomez, and Olivia Crossley-Alvarado and spouse Nicholas Alvarado! In addition he has 10 amazing grand children Mikey Saldana,Emily Keller,Jacob Keller, Malena Marquez, Nathan Saldana,Alicia Saldana,Jayden Crossley, Dalas Saldana, Ethan Alvarado and Isabella Alvarado, he has 6 sisters and 2 brothers, He is proceeded in death by his Mother Rose, step father Jose and Sister Theresa and numerous cousins! Viewing will be held 11am - 1pm Saturday, July 16th, 2022 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia, with a Service Of Remembrance to follow at 1pm.
