Michael James David Turner

Michael James David Turner went home to be with our Lord on February 10, 2023 at the age of 44, following an unexpected medical emergency. Michael James was employed as an RNA/CNA at Sequoia Vista at Kaweah Manor in Visalia CA. He is survived by his two sons, Jayden C. Turner (18) and Malakai M. Turner (13), both of Visalia; his mother, Sonia Rodriguez Wheeler and stepdad, James Wheeler of Visalia; his dad, Michael D. Turner and stepmom, Debbie Turner of Coos Bay, Oregon; his very special cousin Anna Valles of Visalia; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Some of whom reside out of state. In Michael James' twenties he managed several restaurants in Porterville and was employed as an Assistant Manager of Mimi's Cafe (Visalia) for a few years. After his marriage to Marcy Morales Turner in 2008 he relocated to Fresno. In 2015 Michael moved to Coos Bay, Oregon for almost 4 years and it was there, during this brief time that he began his new career in the health field. While in Coos Bay he was employed at Avamere Rehabilitation for a few years and thrived in his position. After his return to California in 2019, he worked at "A Heavenly Home Senior Care" in Paso Robles until his return to Visalia in 2021. While residing in Visalia, he was employed at Prestige Assisted Living, Westgate Gardens Care Center, and Sequoia Vista at Kaweah Manor. He was always striving to find the best fit for raising his son, Malakai, as a single parent. Michael loved his Lord Jesus more than anything and everywhere he worked, he sought to share God's love, tender mercy, and amazing grace. Our precious baby boy will be deeply missed. He loved playing his guitar and worshipping our Lord in song. He loved his 2 boys and fought for legal custody of both of them. He loved his dog Bella (Loukie). He loved watching his favorite NFL football team (Chicago Bears) play and lose. Walter Payton (running back, Bears) became his favorite player at the wee age of 10 and he unapologetically let everyone know it. Michael loved camping in the mountains surrounding Shaver Lake. He loved reading, especially weather facts and Biblical theology. He loved all the many Senior Residents he cared for on a daily basis. We give a big shout out and heartfelt "thanks" to the staff and friends at Sequoia Vista (Kaweah Manor) for their love, concern, and prayers during Michael's time in I.C.U. A special thanks to Tanya Buchner who very tenderly and kindly reached out to our family several times. We love you guys. Words cannot describe the blessing and comfort you have been to us. At the early age of "8" he gave his heart to Jesus at a Luis Palau Crusade in Fresno. Very tenderly Jesus was calling him, and he walked down from halfway up the Selland Arena to give his heart and life to Jesus Christ. He knew exactly what he was doing, and a dramatic change occurred overnight. Michael James was welcomed in Heaven by his Maternal Grandparents, Nicolas and Emily Rodriguez; Paternal Grandparents, David and Ruth Turner; Step Grandmother, Mary Jane Wheeler, Aunt Laurie Wheeler, Uncle Jack Wheeler, and Uncle John Wheeler. May you rest in peace our precious Michael James. We will reunite with you once again very soon. There will not be a "Celebration of Life" at this time.
