Michael Paul Main

Michael Main was born August 10, 1987, in Visalia, CA, and passed away on September 18, 2022, in Tulare, CA, following a brief illness. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Paige, his brother, Ian (Megan), his sister, Samantha (Janning), and his grandmother, Ann Zachary along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Dwain Zachary, Sr., his grandmother, Donna Melton, grandfather, Tobe Main, Jr., and great grandparents Woodrow (Eunice) Zachary, Ben (Leona) McCrain, Cecil (Helen) Mayol, and Opal Ashe. Due to being developmentally delayed and experiencing the impact of a severe seizure disorder, Michael had many challenges in life. To help him throughout his life, God provided family, friends, caretakers, teachers, as well as many doctors, nurses, EMS, fire, and law enforcement personnel to assist with his needs. If you were one of these people, you were a blessing to Michael's life and enhanced his ability to flourish amidst the setbacks. Michael attended schools throughout Tulare County. He attended Riverbend in Visalia, Maple Melody in Tulare, and L.B. Hill School in Porterville. He was able to participate in Special Olympics held in Tulare County every year, and the events brought him great joy. He relished community outings, going to the mountains and the beach. He was an avid listener of all types of music and loved to sing and dance. He was always ready for a photo op and liked taking pictures. When at home, his hobbies included drawing, coloring, and tabletop activities. Michael had a very loving spirit and made many friends during his life. As his family says, he is now in his heavenly home and is cancer free, seizure free, and disability free. He will be sorely missed by all his family as well as his group home brothers and caregivers. Services for Michael Main will begin Saturday, October 1 at 9a.m. at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel located at 127 E. Caldwell Ave. in Visalia. Graveside services will be held at approximately 11a.m. at the Tulare North Public Cemetery, and a reception will follow at the First Church of God Fellowship Hall in Tulare located at 833 N.
