Mercedes Borba

Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother Mercedes Borba passed away on July 16, 2020 spending her final days at home with her devoted family by her side. She was 83. Mercedes was born on September 14, 1936 to Joaquin and Rose Aguiar in Artesia, CA. At only 17, she married the true love of her life Frank Borba and remained faithfully by his side; supporting his dreams of owning a dairy and also raising 5 children together. They were married for 62 years until his passing in 2015. Mercedes pride and joy were her family. She was the happiest when all of her children and grandchildren could be together, and always made sure to let each of them know how much she loved them. She was so proud of them and enjoyed telling her friends and neighbors all about her family. Her grandchildren especially loved stopping in for visits, sending letters and cards, and having conversations over the phone to catch up with her and share a laugh together. One of Mercedes favorite past times was dancing, and in her younger days never looked happier than when she could dance-especially with Frank. Later on in life, she enjoyed life's simple pleasures such as tending to all of her plants and making sure she had plenty of peanuts to feed the birds that visited. Mercedes is survived by her 5 children; Emily Bony(Mike), Frank Borba III, John Borba(Ann), Rosemary Reeder(Kevin), and Linda Borba. 8 grandchildren; Sharnay Teixeira(Lizuarte), Michael Ward(Carrie), Johnny Borba(Susan), Kristy Maggard(Matthew), Jacob Reeder(Marley), Aubrie Reeder, Ashley Fuller(Shawn), and Gavin Tolbert(Kelsey). 7 great-grandchildren; Wyatt, Logan, Luke, Liam, Mikayla, Savannah, and Breanna. The family of Mercedes would like to extend our gratitude to all of her friends and neighbors at Westlake Village. Your outpouring of support over the years and companionship to our mom meant a great deal. She loved all of you very dearly. We will miss her so much. Visitation and Catholic Services will be held at Salser Dillard Visalia.
