Mary Garcia Cabral

Mary Garcia Cabral was born in San Marcos, Texas on September 28, 1939, the eldest of 4 children to parents Diego and Luisa Garcia. She passed away peacefully on October 30, 2018 in Fresno, Ca. Mary married her high school sweetheart, Robert G. Cabral on September 8, 1973 and moved to the Bay area where they lived until their return to Fresno in 1985, where she continued to work as a hairdresser until her passing. They were happily married for the past 45 years and enjoyed spending their time together along with family and friends. They were both graduates of Corcoran high school before heading off to college. Mary was a long standing member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church where she was a very active member of the OLV Women's Alter Guild. Mary participated in all of the Guild Fundraising activities and was a valued member to her Church community. Mary never met a person she didn't like and had many good friends who appreciated her personality and good sense of humor. She was a great cook and loved to entertain. She was gifted with artistic talent and delighted in making lovely floral arrangements. She was also a good seamstress, and loved to sew. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she took great delight in decorating her home. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Diego and Luisa Garcia, brother, Guadalupe Garcia and sister, Janie Candeleria, and nephew Albert Candeleria. She is survived by her husband, Robert G, Cabral, three step-children, Deborah Pimentel , & her husband Albert of Visalia, Cherise Black, and her husband Frank of Arroyo Grande, and Christopher Maselli and his wife Vicki of Grover Beach, sister Carmen Candeleria from San Jose, nephews John & Anna Candeleria from Lathrop, Ca. Gilbert & Liz Candeleria from San Jose, Carmen H. Candeleria of San Jose, Brother, Diego Garcia and wife Sheila along with their children Matt & Angela from San Jose. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 2838 N West Avenue, Fresno, Ca. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 12:00pm. Rosary and Mass will be followed by Reception in the Church Hall.
