Mark Rae Saltzman

Mark Rae Saltzman, beloved brother, father, grandfather and friend, departed this life on May 27, 2025, at Kaweah Health Medical Center in Visalia, California at the age of 75. Mark was born on June 12, 1949, in Tulare, California to Harold Rae and Marjorie Saltzman. He was the oldest of three boys. He graduated from McLane High School in Fresno, California. He met the love of his life, Eleanor, in high school and they were married on August 23, 1969. They lived in Fresno where Mark worked as a golf teaching pro at Fort Washington Country Club, until starting a career in the insurance industry in 1975. Mark and Eleanor were blessed with three children, Kristi Ann, Kevin Rae, and Kurt David. Over the years, the family attended the People's Church in Fresno and Evangelical Free Church of Fresno. In 1990, Mark and Eleanor moved their family to Visalia, where Mark started his own insurance agency in 1992. There, they began attending Grace Community Church. Mark loved golf, traveling with his wife and family, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and programs, and serving the Lord. He was an active member of a church small group and men's Bible study, as well as visiting and serving at a rehabilitation center after his leg amputation. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marjorie Saltzman, and his beloved wife, Eleanor, in October of 2021. We rejoice that they have been reunited in heaven! Mark is survived by his brothers and their wives, Scott and Gailyn Saltzman and Ted and Vickie Saltzman, his children and their spouses, Kristi and Andrew Atsma, Kevin and Karin Saltzman, and Kurt and Andie Saltzman, and 9 grandchildren, Brendon and Olivia Atsma, Karina Atsma, Brian Atsma, Kayla Saltzman, Kenna Saltzman, Kaden Saltzman, Kole Saltzman, Keegan Saltzman and Micaiah Saltzman. Mark was a faithful servant of God. His faith in Jesus was a constant source of comfort and hope, especially during great trials. The joy of the Lord overflowed through Mark to everyone he encountered. He will be greatly missed on earth, but we rejoice that he is now healed and in the presence of the Lord! Celebration Of Life services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 9th, 2025 at Grace Community Church, 2525 S. Lovers Lane, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
