Maria Valencia

Maria Magdalena Valencia passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. Maria was born in Apatzingan Michoacan Mexico on August 10, 1950. Maria and her husband, Quirino Valencia migrated to Woodlake Ca. where they lived most of their life until moving to Alpaugh Ca. Maria met her husband Quirino at a very young age and married him at the age of 15. They were married for 56 years until her departure from this earth. Maria was an excellent cook and loved preparing her traditional meals for family and friends. She made sure no one left her home on an empty stomach. Maria or Nena as some would call her, was one of the hardest worker out in the fields. Even while working, she would manage to prepare her meals and feed her co-workers in the fields where they were all working. Maria was a very humble and traditional women. She loved cross stitching, crocheting, sewing and gardening. Family was also important to Maria. She loved spending time with her BIG family and enjoyed having a full house. Maria was a straightforward person. She always spoke her mind and was never hesitated to give her opinion, whether you wanted to hear it or not. Maria was the rock to her family and the glue that kept her family united. She will be missed and loved by many. Maria is survived by her loving husband: Quirino Valencia. Her children: Marie Harmon, Quirino Valencia, Lorenzo Valencia, Alicia Valencia, Elvira Valencia, Maria Valencia, Jose Valencia, Christina Valencia and her grandson, which whom she raised since birth, Matthew Valencia, along with 38 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Maria is preceded in the death by her son Estevan Valencia and her parents Salvador Barajas and Udelia Reynaga Visitation will be held 4-7pm Monday, June 21st, 2021 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia with the Rosary to be prayed 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9am Tuesday, June 22nd, 2021 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church Street, Visalia with burial to follow at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
