Manuela Hinojosa

Today we honor the life of Manuela Hinojosa, also known as "Mela". Mela passed away on May 15th, at age 70 years old. Mela will be forever remembered by her seven brothers and their families, her mother Vicenta Hinojosa and her three children Omar, Marlena and Marissa. She will also be greatly missed by her beautiful nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Manuela "Mela" was an incredible mother and always put the needs of others first. She was a loving, independent woman and worked hard all her life. She was born in Texas and raised in Farmersville CA. She raised three children on her own and many other children that were not hers, but loved them as her own. She retired as a retail worker at Wal-Mart of 11 years in Visalia, Ca. She was a momma to the motherless and second mom to many. She was a friend to everyone and I mean anyone. Neighbors adored her, coworkers became family and even strangers passing by would experience the love she had to offer. Most of all, she took great pride in being the best grandmother ever. As many of you may have known, Mela was in a long fight with cancer. She had overcome cancer twice. After years of fighting she felt like her body could not take anymore. Some may say that they had no idea she had cancer because of her joy and positive attitude during this fight. She fought with love and kindness. She definitely left a mark on anyone she encountered. She lived to serve others and lived by faith in God. Even in times of struggle she gave our lord and savior all the praise and worship. She is the definition of a faithful strong and mighty woman. Viewing will be held 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday, June 3rd, 2024 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at Praise Center Church, 503 N. Floral St., Visalia. Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 4th, 2024 at Exeter District Cemetery, 719 E. Marinette Ave., Exeter, and closing with a reception at Praise Center Church in Visalia.
