Luz Martinez Montemayor

Luz was a loving, and devoted family man. He was an exceptional husband, and father, he put the needs of family first, he devoted his life to working hard, in order to create a better life for his family. He was truly selfless, he knew the true meaning of hard work, the importance of having integrity, perseverance, determination, and being dedicated to what ever type of work he was asked to perform. His hard work, dedication, and commitment to providing a better life, gave his family the foundation they needed in order to create a better path for their children, and grandchildren. Giving them the opportunity to pursue their dreams for generations to follow. Luz was a man of very few words, he consistently demonstrated by example what it meant to be a good man, loving, caring, and always being genuine. Luz was a simple man, that enjoyed the simplest of things, like cooking for family, and friends at get togethers. When it came to cooking he was a semi perfectionist, he wanted the balance of flavors to be just right, he especially loved making the perfect flour tortillas with just the right amount of salt, manteca, flour, and water at the optimal temperature. He loved having his afternoon caguama after a hards day of work. He also loved gardening his own fruits and vegetables. He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it, Luz touched the lives of many. Luz Montemayor was born in La Venadera N.L. Mexico on December 3, 1934. He passed away peacefully on Monday November 20, 2023 at his home in Parlier, California surrounded by beloved family and friends at his bedside. Luz was the youngest child of Luz Montemayor Sr. and Narssisa Martinez De Montemayor, his father was tragically killed on April 17, 1934 at the age of 35 approximately 8 months before his birth. He spent his early years helping his mother, until her passing. In 1956 he met his wife Elisa Cantu in Homestead Florida and married soon after in 1957. He was married to Elisa until his passing, approximately 66 years. Luz had 8 loving children, 17 beautiful grandchildren, and 18 adorable great grandchildren. Luz was preceded in death by his parents, his 6 brothers, 3 sisters, son Cesar Eliud Luz will lovingly be remembered by his wife Elisa Montemayor his children Janie (Louie)Huerta, Servando(Irma)Montemayor, Cesar(Elda)Montemayor, Carlos(Cynthia)Montemayor, Eddie(Delia)Montemayor, Mary(Rick)Burns, Gabriel(Brenda)Montemayor, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, his sister Teresa Garza, his many nieces and nephews Luz will be truly missed by everyone who knew him.
