Lily S Salcedo

Lily Salcedo was born on December 27, 1942, in the small town of Jerome, Arkansas. At just two years old, she moved with her family to Lindsay, California - the town she would lovingly call home for the next 80 years. Lily met the love of her life, Bobby, while in high school. The two became sweethearts and were married on either December 9th or 10th, 1962 - a loving mystery they never quite solved between themselves, but one they joyfully celebrated for 60 beautiful years. Their bond was unwavering, filled with laughter, mutual respect, and a deep love that stood the test of time. Though Lily never had a sister by blood, her marriage to Bobby brought her into a large, lively family - gaining 14 brothers and sisters-in-law who, along with their spouses, quickly became her lifelong friends. She was the proud sister of two beloved brothers, Carl and Donald Kaku, both of Lindsay. Lily and Bobby were blessed with one son, Stephen Patrick Salcedo, a daughter-in-law, Tammie Salcedo, and one cherished grandson, Eric, who was the light of her life. Her family circle extended far and wide - aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews - all of whom held a special place in her heart. Lily's work ethic was shaped early on. She began her career working in her father's grocery store as a young girl, later continuing on to Save Mart, where she dedicated many years before retiring. Beyond her professional life, Lily was known for her warm spirit and open arms. She loved hosting family gatherings and entertaining - any excuse to bring people together brought her joy. Her passion for giving extended into her church community, where she volunteered faithfully. Whether it was helping others, tending to her garden, enjoying daily walks with dear friends, or even hitting the slopes for some skiing. She also had an artistic side and enjoyed many nights with her friends working on ceramics. Lily embraced life fully. She also loved baking, shopping, and most of all - laughing with those she loved. Her best friends, Margie and Judy, were by her side since the fifth grade. Together, they were a mischievous trio. Stories of late night adventures, including "borrowing" her dad's store keys, are still fondly told - proof of a youthful spirit that never faded. To know Lily was to love her. Her kindness, sense of humor, and generous heart left an imprint on everyone she met. Though our hearts are heavy, her memory is a gift we will carry always. Lily Salcedo will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Memorial Mass services will be held 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Monday, August 11th, 2025 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N.
