Lillie Desmeth Renteria

Our beloved Mother, Lillie Desmeth Renteria passed away and joined Our Father in heaven on January 12, 2023, in Visalia, CA. at 62 years of age. She is survived by her 5 children, David Olivera and spouse Sharla Olivera, Rosemary Olivera, Diana Olivera, Hector Olivera Jr. and spouse Dawn Olivera, Michael Olivera, her 13 grandkids, her ex-husband Hector Olivera Sr. and her companion and best friend Larry Ford. She was born on September 26, 1960, at the Community Hospital in Visalia, California to Crisanto and Carmen Renteria. She grew up in Visalia with her 14 brothers and sisters. She learned to cook at a very young age helping her mom feed the family and making her dad's lunch before he went to work. This began her love for cooking which she is known for today. Her siblings, kids, and grandkids would put in special requests for their favorite dishes. She passed on her passion for cooking to her children and grandchildren. Lillie was a bright soul with a beautiful smile who always made you laugh. She would dance around the house and drive around town taking us kids everywhere while listening to music of all genres. She was a huge fan of soft rock, R&B, Motown, and Spanish music, which she played loudly putting everyone in a joyful mood. Lillie loved you so deep, she didn't shy away from telling you how she felt. She was the person who opened her home up to anyone in need, would give you the last penny to her name, and would be there for you any time day or night. Her home was always filled with people, food, and laughter. She was known to many as Mama Lillie. Sports was another passion of Lillie's. She was a huge 49er football fan and a SF Giants baseball fan and was proud to show it. She enjoyed watching the games with her son's even if it was on facetime for those that were long distance. She was that mom and grandma in the stands cheering on her sons and grandson when they played football and ran track. Most of the time you would find her hanging out with her kids and grandkids. Lillie was loved by many. There will be a viewing on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 4:00-5:00 pm, with a memorial service from 5:00-6:00 pm at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E Caldwell Ave in Visalia, California. A reception will follow for friends and family from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 120 N Hall Street Visalia, CA where refreshments will be served.
