Lewis Arlin O'Dell

Louie O'Dell, Master Mechanic passed away unexpectedly on September 28th 2018 at the tender age of 46. Louie is survived by his beloved wife Belen O'Dell of 28 years, his two children Cheyenne and Brock O'Dell who were the light of his life, as well as his brother-in-law Alex Villegas and his sister-in-law Bernadette Quintana whom he raised as his own. His nephew and niece Noah and Dakota Svoboda. His mother Linda Lumsden. His brother Chester Lumsden and Curtis Lumsden and wife Misty. His nieces Kelsey and Brittany Lumsden and nephew Christopher Lumsden. His great nephews Eric and Freddy and great nieces Allzay and Melanie. His uncle Jay O'Dell who was like a father to Louie, and Jay's wife Sandy. His uncle Troy who was Louie's roping partner and Troy's wife Roanna. His aunt Cyndy Holguin and aunt Judy O'Dell. His cousin Gary O'Dell who was like a brother to Louie and Gary's wife Candice, and their son Cody O'Dell. His cousin Fawn O'Dell and her daughter Emily Schimpf. His sister-in-law Amelia Quintana and nephews Andres, Adrian, Isaiah and Ritchie. His sister-in-law Rachel Garcia and husband Efrain and and nephews Efrain and Timothy and his niece Lily. His best friends Nathan Dotson and Charles Peltzer and numerous family and friends. Louie was preceded in death by his father Lewis Lumsden. His grandparents Arvie and Iva O'Dell. His uncles Gary O'Dell and Joe Holguin. His cousin Chuck O'Dell and his in laws Rudy and Amelia Quintana. Louie was born and raised in Ivanhoe, CA. He worked for Safety Striping Services Inc. for four years. They treated Louie like family and it was there he truly found the place he wanted to retire. He lived everyday of his life by the cowboy code of honesty, integrity, love for family, and love of ranching. He enjoyed gold panning with his uncle Jay and his children. He was a talented horseman who passed his love of horses on to his children, particularly Cheyenne who competes on the C.O.S. Equestrian Team. Louie loved working with his son Brock on many different projects, such as fixing Brock's truck and teaching him mechanic skills. Louie loved BBQing , watching old westerns and gold shows with his wife Belen and dancing with her in the kitchen. He was happiest when he was surrounded by his family and friends and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Viewing will be held from 4-7PM on Monday, October 8, 2018 at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel. Celebration of life will be held at 9AM on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Gateway Church, 1100 S. Sowell St. Visalia, CA 93277. Burial will follow the service at Woodlake Cemetery. We were all blessed to have known this kind hearted generous man and our lives are better because of his love and friendship.
