Kerry Lynn Allsup

Kerry Lynn Allsup, 69 of Farmersville, California, passed peacefully on May 26, 2025, in Visalia, California. Kerry was born to Dorothy and William Allsup on November 16, 1955 in Sacramento, California. Kerry grew up in Sacramento and San Leandro, California. He later moved to Porterville, California where he resided at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home of the West. Several years later, he moved to a group home in Porterville, where he spent 30 years with Alice and Don Cobb, and their five other residents. He then moved to Farmersville in 2021 to reside at Sierra Vista Residential Care Facility. Kerry always looked forward to competing each year in the Tulare County Special Olympics in Track & Field. It was one of the highlights of his year. He worked for many years at a vocational center in Porterville. He liked working but he also looked forward to his days off when he could relax and watch John Wayne movies, and reorganize his closet. Kerry loved food, especially fast food at McDonald's, In 'N Out, and Long John Silvers. One would often hear him say, "I love food." He also loved all kinds of animals, and later in life came to love cats. He was also a collector; he had an extensive collection of baseball caps. Kerry enjoyed going to church with his mother on a regular basis. People who knew Kerry knew how extremely polite he was. He was often heard saying, "Thank you," to anyone who did something nice for him. Kerry was also full of love and was quick to tell people who treated him well, "I love you." He is survived by his brother, Terry Allsup of Agoura Hills, and all his family at Sierra Vista Residential Care Facility in Farmersville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Jean Poland and William Henry Allsup. Kerry will truly be missed. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Visalia Public Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
