Kayla Ann Johnson

On June 8, 1999, at 2:26 am, Kayla Ann Johnson made her grand entrance into the world. Although her time here was very short, her impact was truly amazing. Kayla was born in San Antonio, Texas to parents Kevin and Adriana. Soon after her grand arrival, Kayla along with her parents moved to California to start the next early chapter of her life. Kayla attended The Maple School, Crestwood Elementary School, La Joya Middle School, El Diamante High School in the Visalia Unified School District. Kayla attended College of the Sequoias. Her goal was to become a Veterinary Technician. As a child, Kayla captured the attention of everyone around her through her incredible personality. Adriana's unwavering love helped mold our beautiful Kayla into the incredible lover of life we all knew. From her early childhood, it was quite obvious that her body was too small to contain the heart of gold that she was blessed with. Everywhere she went, she was guided by love, compassion and empathy, changing the world around her one day at a time. Much like Kevin, Kayla "Kalani," meaning of the heavens, as Kevin lovingly called her, marched to the beat of her own drum, and it was that soulful rhythm of her life that would cause everyone she encountered to symbolically dance with joy. Kayla had great love for her family and friends, but she also had an undeniable heart for animals. In her world, there was no such thing as a stray, because a stray to her meant she was coming home to meet the rest of her family. Rescuing and saving animals became a hallmark of her young life. Her friendly, fun-loving, and generous spirit, coupled with her warm heart and infectious smile and laugh, was enough to win over any person and any animal, but she would not stop there. Big sister Kayla adored her brothers Elijah and Noah and her bonus sisters Queen and Samantha. Blessed with tremendous gifts and inward treasure, Kayla would unleash her creative energy through fashion and her love of music. While you could not get her to wear a dress as a little girl, she would ultimately help others dress themselves. Having a keen eye for stand-out fashion, if Kayla helps dress you, you are definitely going to stand out. Many would say Kayla was a "Modern Hippie,". She embraced her desire to find the true meaning of the universe along with her intense love for nature and animals and all their beauty. Focused and determined, Kayla would not let anyone or anything determine her value. Sassy, Silly, Smart and Stubborn our Kayla is and will forever be the most amazing daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, cousin and great granddaughter this world had the pleasure of having. Her physical focus, mental resiliency, and determined spirit would be a constant reminder to those around her that she was a big gem in a world of small rocks. Kayla was preceded in death by her father, Kevin A. Johnson, her grandmother, Deborah Ann Johnson, and her grandfather, Sergio Loaiza. She is survived by her mother Adriana Loaiza, her bonus father Gary Mancillas, her brothers Noah and Elijah Mancillas, bonus sisters Queen and Samantha Mancillas, grandmother Maria Loaiza, grandfather Charles Johnson, great-grandfather Ross Johnson, Uncle Charles "Jody" Dobard, Aunts Tanisha "Renee" Emory, Myrna Tripp, Judy Zuniga, Maria Loaiza, Claudia Newhouse, Uncles Abel Zuniga, Martin Diaz, Matthew Newhouse. 1st cousins Yesenia Bent, Joseph and Joshua Dobard, Michael Candler II, Nathan, Jayden, Savannah �and Sydney Tripp, Steven & Martin Diaz, London Newhouse, Elliot, Melissa, Isabella, Ashley and Brian Zuniga, The Loaiza Family, and �The Johnson Family and �The Mancillas Family. Viewing will be held 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Sunday, March 24th, 2024 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Thursday, March 28th, 2024 at North Tulare Public Cemetery, 4572 North J. St., Tulare.
