Karen Lou Green

It is with great sadness that the family of Karen Lou Green announces that she passed away suddenly at home at the age of 79 years old. Karen will be forever remembered for her extremely loving and caring nature and personality. Her smile was radiant, her soul shined everywhere she went. Everyone loved Karen, what she loved to do the most was to spend time with friends and family. Her neighbors were not only friends but were "family". She was a great cook and really good at getting people together for great times. She loved her friends and family but Jacklyn (Grand-daughter) was the absolute apple of her eye. She loved watching Jacklyn grow up and spending time at her dance recitals, sporting events and lately her MMA fighting matchings. Karen was very patriotic and was active in the Women's Republican Party and often contributed to many Conservative and Pro Life causes. Some of her favorite charities were Tunnel to Towers, Right to Life, and Reagan Foundation. She really enjoyed her (almost monthly) trips to Las Vegas where she loved to play the table games and slots and attended many different kinds of shows. She made many friends while in Vegas and enjoyed her time. Las Vegas will miss her greatly. Karen enjoyed spending time at Gateway Church and attended Bible study every week and had made many friends. She also really enjoyed getting together with her Bunco group who were great friends, they were like sisters. Karen was Co-Owner of the Visalia Sales Yard Inc. for the last 40 years where she worked with her nephew Don Brumley and his wife Ann. While running the business she still made time to help both her sister and sister-in-law with their lives and needs. In her early years her family moved here from Independence Kansas in 1947. Karen was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Ruth Furnas, a sister Letha, and brother Paul. She graduated from Mt Whitney high school in 1961. Soon after she met the love of her life Jack cruising on Main and were married in 1963. Karen was preceded in death by her husband Jack of 53 years. She is survived by her two sons, Brian Kieth Green and wife Blanca, Darrel Jay Green and wife Kathy, their son Josh, and daughter Jacklyn. Karen is also survived by her sister Marlene Donlin, nieces and nephews, Ada, Don, Diane, Robert, Roberta, Robert, Michelle, Ruthie. Viewing will be held 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Funeral services will follow from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, August 30th, 2023 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
