Judith Ann Mahanes

Judith Ann Mahanes(Zontek) 1943 - 2023 Judith "Judy" Ann Mahanes, 79, of Visalia, California, passed away peacefully on 01/27/2023. She was born to parents Blase and Erma Zontek on 09/14/1943 in Chula Vista, California. In 1955, the Zontek family had grown to 6 children (Blase, Judy, James, Stephen, Susan and Joanne) as the family then moved to Porterville, CA. Judy graduated from Porterville High School in 1961 and in same year married Thomas Marks and they raised 4 children together, (Thomas, Christopher, Stephen and Jeffrey). Judy adored her 4 boys and through the years she would constantly be caring for them. From little league and football games to bmx races and tennis matches, Judy never missed a beat caring for her boys and getting them involved with whatever they were interested in. Judy was often asked if she ever wished for a girl out of the four children she had, in which she would reply, "I love my four boys and wouldn't change a thing". Judy went on to study Nursing at College of the Sequoias, where she received her LVN license. She worked at Kaweah Delta Dialysis Center in Visalia, CA for 25 years. Judy married Raymond Mahanes in 1993 and they both began a life of retirement by traveling the world and spending lots of time at their Pismo Beach vacation home. She will be deeply missed by her four children; Thomas Marks and wife Suzie of Turlock CA, Christopher Marks and wife Meredith of Gilroy, CA. Stephen Marks of Visalia, CA. Jeffrey Marks and wife Lisa of Visalia, CA. as well as her brothers and sisters: James Zontek and wife Cindy of Manteca CA, Stephen Zontek and wife Leonor of Casa Grande AZ, Susan Marling (Zontek) and husband David of Murfreesboro, TN and Joanne Bland (Zontek) and husband John of Gainesville FL. Judy was blessed with 7 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren that she loved to spend time with. She was preceded in death by her husbands Ray Mahanes and Thomas Marks, parents Blase and Ermna Zontek, brother Blase Zontek and her grandchild Brian Marks. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10th, 2023 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. 127 E. Caldwell Ave Visalia, CA 93277 at 10am. Burial will be held at another time privately with the family. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
