NAME: Judith Green AGE: RESIDENT OF: DATE OF DEATH: OCCUPATION: PLACE OF DEATH: Start story here Judy Green of Visalia, CA passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on Thursday August 13, 2015. Judy was born on February 23, 1941 in Washington, DC and was the only child of Doris Eleanor Greer and Thomas Wayne Allen. She spent her childhood in Virginia, New York and Maryland before moving to Visalia in 1967. She married Ray Green on August 19, 1986 at the then-Visalia Oaks baseball park, where they first met. Ray has been a loving, loyal and faithful husband to Judy for 29 years, rarely leaving her side, especially during her illness. Judy has two devoted children from a previous marriage, Thomas Carter and Natalie Carter Carrere, a son-in-law, Barrett Carrere and a granddaughter, Maren Carrere. She will be dearly missed by her family. Judy proudly worked at Kaweah Delta Hospital for over 20 years in the Dietary Department and had been a long-time member of Ladies of the Moose Lodge. Her faith was very important to her and she was able to embrace Christianity in many forms of worship, being a member of both the Seventh Day Adventist Church and New Hope Valley Church as well as taking Bible study at St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Judy loved baseball (particularly the San Francisco Giants), playing bingo, her family, her friends and her cats. The family would like to thank Linda Gadbury and her husband Jim for their unfailing friendship and support, Shannon Green, whom Judy loved like a “second daughter,” and the many other friends and caregivers who showed deep kindness and compassion in day to day life and during her illness, especially the staff at Tulare Nursing and Rehab. A memorial service will be held at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel in Visalia on Friday August 21 at 2pm. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Visalia Seventh-day Adventist Church at 1310 South Woodland Street.
