Juan Algin Anaya

Today we celebrate the life of Juan Anaya - our Dad, our Grandpa, our Papa, our Johnny. He was born on December 7, 1931, in Clint, Texas, to Jose and Juana Anaya. He came from a big family - one of eleven siblings - so from the very beginning, family was everything. And that never changed. For 68 years, he loved and adored his wife, Senorina. Their marriage was something special. It was stead. Faithful. Strong. He was a hard-working man. He worked as a farm laborer - not an easy life. But he carried himself with pride and dignity. He understood what it meant to work with your hands, to provide, and to do it without complaining. Even later in life, you could still find him in his garden, tending to his plants. He loved watching things grow. And when you think about it, that's exactly what he did with his family - he planted roots, nurtured us, and watched us grow. He was a man of deep faith. An avid member of the Apostolic church, he loved reading his Bible. His faith wasn't just something he talked about - it guided how he lived. It gave him strength, and it gave him peace. Now, he also loved his sports. Baseball. The Cowboys. Boxing. If there was a game on, he was watching it. And if you ever watched a game with him, you knew he was rooting for "whoever is winning." But more than anything - more than sports, more than hobbies - he loved his family. He was a proud father to Dora, Elena, Tony, Abel, and Oscar Sr. (wife Dora). And when the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along - that was it. That was his joy. You could see it in his face. He lit up around them. He loved being Grandpa and Great-Grandpa. That's where his heart was. He wasn't flashy. He wasn't loud. But he was steady. Faithful. Present. He showed us what commitment looks like. What love looks like. What perseverance looks like. We're going to miss him deeply. His voice. His strength. His example. But his legacy lives on - in his children, in his grandchildren - in his great-grandchildren, in the values he passed down. In the faith he stood on. And it there's one thing we know, it's this: he finished his race faithfully. We love you, and we'll carry you with us always. Visitation will be held 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 10th, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM Wednesday, March 11th, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 11th, 2026 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia.
