Jose "Danny" Perez

On October 02, 2019, our youngest brother, Jose Daniel Perez, of Visalia, California, succumbed to a long term illness. May our Heavenly Father and the angels welcome him with open arms to join our parents and other loved ones in Heaven. Danny was a very caring and generous person who was always ready to help anyone and everyone. He was a very kind and gentle soul who was always willing to give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it and treated everyone like family. Danny always had a smile on his face and never had a mean word for anyone. As someone said, "He had a heart of gold and a wonderful personality". Family was important to him and he loved us and was especially proud of his nieces and nephews. He loved and served the Lord in many ways. He was very proud and happy volunteering at Mount Cristo Rey in El Paso, Texas, for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of the Greenfield Council for 18 years. Danny was a big 49er fan. Go Niners! Danny was born in Salinas, CA, raised in Greenfield and attended Greenfield Elementary School and graduated with the class of 1982 in King City, CA. Upon graduation went to work for Nob Hill Foods in Greenfield until 1998. He moved to Visalia in 2006 then moved to El Paso,Texas in 2008 until last month in September when he moved back home to be near family. Danny was preceded in death by his parents Miguel and Socorro Perez and grand-nephew Xavier Bolivar. He is survived by daughters Kourtney Gulick and Shelbee Cortes and 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings: Gloria (Tony) children: Tony III (Jennifer) children Emma, Isabel, Joshua, Jacob, Matthew, Mark Gonzalez; Salvador (Adelina) children Anairy, Huitzi, Meztli Gonzalez and Carlos Gonzalez; Guadalupe Barton, children: Phillip (Desiree) children Hunter, Sasha, Willow Rose; Andrew Barton and Sarah Barton; Miguel Perez Jr. (Victoria) Ashley (Fiance Matthew Fraiser) daughter Lacey, Anastasia Perez, Gabriel Perez. Danny will truly be missed by all. A Viewing will be held 8:00am Monday, October 7th, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church Street, Visalia. After which the Rosary will be prayed at 9am and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am. Burial will follow at 11am at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
