Jesse A Rodriguez

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jesse A. Rodriguez, age 78, on January 17, 2020. He was the patriarch of the Rodriguez family and an inspirational role model to all of us. The angels carried him home to heaven on their wings where he can think and move freely and join his family waiting for him. Jesse was born on October 10, 1941, in Tulare, CA. to his beloved parents, Jesus and Elizabeth Rodriguez. From a young age, he demonstrated a strong work ethic. After high school, he entered the Navy and served his country for 4 years during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was aboard the USS Hector, oil tanker, fueling the other ships of the blockade on the island of Cuba. On December 29, 1960, he married the love of his life, Josephine Porras. They were married for 59 years. Jesse possessed an exemplary work ethic and was a successful entrepreneur, barber, owning Sports Cut Barber Shop, in Exeter, CA. for over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, sister, niece, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jesse leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Josie: his 2 daughters, Patricia Mendoza (Hector), and Sandra Rodriguez. Grandpa will be lovingly remembered by his 5 grandchildren; Nathan Mendoza (Clara) Krista Mendoza (Moises), Matthew Mendoza, Jessica Bermudez (Joseph) and Michael Comer; and his 8 great grandchildren; Juliet Bermudez, Noah Mendoza, Jozet Bermudez, Sebastian Mendoza, Jeremiah Gonzales, Jesse Mendoza, Ezekiel Mendoza and Joseph Bermudez II. He also has a brother, John E. Rodriguez (Karyn) and 2 sisters, Rebecca Morillo (Art) and Virginia A. Rodriguez, special aunt, Mary Mejia, uncle and aunt, Raymond and Ramona Mejia; brother-in-law and his wife, Daniel and Delores Porras; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at 4:00pm-7pm at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave. in Visalia, CA. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at 10:00am at Visalia First, 3737 S. Akers St., Visalia, CA. Burial will follow at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W.
