Jerry Dean Peterson

Jerry Dean Peterson, 82, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully September 1, 2025 with family by his side leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and cherished memories. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Fran, whose companionship he treasured throughout their years together. Jerry was born March 7, 1943 in Bakersfield, CA to Frank and Doris Peterson and raised in Ivanhoe, CA with his sisters Dorothy, Diana, Shirley, and brother Raymond where they attended area schools. It was in school where his sister Diana met her friend Fran and introduced them, they were married June 23, 1961 in Visalia, CA. They moved to Hanford in 1969 Where Jerry would become a Police Officer for the City of Lemoore until retiring years later. Jerry was known for his wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room and lift the spirits of those around him. His quick wit and infectious laughter made him a joy to be with, whether at family gatherings or among his wide circle of friends. He had the rare gift of finding humor in everyday moments, creating countless memories that his loved ones will carry forward. An avid golfer, Jerry spent many happy hours on the course, perfecting his swing and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow golfers. Above all, Jerry was a devoted family man who took immense pride in his role as a grandfather. He delighted in watching his grandchildren grow, sharing stories, offering gentle guidance, and creating special moments that they will treasure forever. His warmth and wisdom touched everyone who knew him. Jerry's family and friends remember him as a man who approached life with joy, treated others with kindness, and never missed an opportunity to share a laugh. His spirit of fun and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his children Darren (Diana) Michelle (Thomas), grandchildren Hailey, Garret (Allie), Alexis, Kylie (Edgar) & Jacob, great-grandchildren Isabella, Emma, Luke, & Logan, extended family, and many friends who were blessed to be part of his life. Viewing will be held 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM Thursday, September 25th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 26th, 2025 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
