Jeanine M. Eakle

Jeannine Eakle was born in Champagne-Urbana, Illinois on July 25, 1933 to Zola and Eldon Rosenberger. She peacefully left this world on December 21, 2013 after a lengthy battle with Peripheral Lateral Sclerosis (PLS). Jeannine and her parents came to California in 1946. Jeannine married John Cahill and had two children, Brad in 1952 and Barry in 1954. She later married John Adaska, and had her youngest son, John in 1962. The family spent two years in the Philippines (1966-1968) and had many fond memories of this adventure. They returned to San Diego in 1968, and in 1969 Jeannine was widowed and focused on creating a new home for her children as she rebuilt her life. In order to make ends meet, Jeannine entered the world of real estate. Over many years, Jeannine worked in nearly all aspects of the industry, eventually owning her own escrow company and along the way received her associate’s degree from Mesa College. She married Tom Eakle in 1974. In retirement, they moved to Henderson, NV, where they were active playing tennis, traveling in the U.S. and abroad, and spending time with family. Jeannine loved her part time job at Costco, and having outings with her dear friends. After several years in Henderson, Jeannine moved to Visalia, CA where John and his family live. Here, she continued to be active in the Republican Women’s group, and kept busy traveling to Southern CA and Henderson to visit friends and family. Jeannine truly had a zest for life. Nothing made her happier than to share time with a friend over a “cuppa coffee”, or to gather family for dinner and laughs. She took time to treasure beautiful moments, whether it was admiring clouds outside her front door, or the beauty of a child’s laughter. Her sunny spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Jeannine is survived by her sister Phillis and husband Ed, her sister Elaine and her husband John. She leaves behind her son Brad, son Barry and his wife Delene, son John and his wife, Sue. She is also survived by four grandkids: Erin and her husband Gustavo; Alex and his wife Sorren (and great-grandson Virgil); Anna; and Lauren. We are very grateful for the tender and sensitive care she received at Redwood Springs Healthcare Center. Jeannine was fond of a philosophy captured simply in the words “Love is the only thing we can carry with us as we go and it makes the end easy.”
