Jaime Cazarez Reed

Jaime C Reed was born on January 14, 1957, and passed away peacefully in Visalia on January 15, 2025, surrounded by family. He had a short Battle with Cancer. Born in Sinaloa, Mexico and later relocated to El Centro, California at age 6 with his adopted father Richard H Reed and Mother Eva Reed. There he started his education at the El Centro Seventh Day Adventist Academy. In 1970, the family made the move to Woodlake, California where they bought a small ranch that eventually Jaime would own with his first wife Yolanda Sahagun who proceeds him in death. Jaime went to Woodlake Jr High and Woodlake Union High School, graduating in 1975. Jaime was a proud Woodlake TIGER and was active in Auto Shop, FFA and Football. As the saying goes, "Once A TIGER Always A TIGER!!!!! Jaime had a large pig breeding project; he showed his stock at the Tulare County Fair. He was proud of his FFA awards and accomplishments. His first job outside of the family farm and labor contracting business was at Woodlake Hardware. Jaime joined the United States Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. He enjoyed traveling through his navel career, with his favorite places being Germany, Italy, and Spain. He excelled in underwater welding and deep-sea recovery during his military time. He also doubled as a fire fighter on the ship, so he would tell his little sister that he was a fire fighter first before her!! Jaime was never afraid to work and was always a hard worker. From picking, packing, and hauling fruit for the family business to building machinery at MAF in Traver which was his last place of employment. He also did other construction work traveling to Florida, Alabama, New York (where he said it was way too cold!!!), Texas, Louisiana to name a few. He made many wonderful lifelong friends throughout his travels. He was always busy doing side jobs like building fences, fixing things and gardening. He loved to cook and was always trying to feed you something!! He participated in the Seventh Day Adventist Bilingual Pathfinder group and helped build gardening areas on church grounds. He married Amelia Pino, in Peru. He had no children, but was immensely proud of his family and nephews & nieces. He is survived by his mother Eva Reed, wife Amelia Reed, brothers Ramon Reed (Pam), Alonso & Renee Cazarez; sisters Patti Reed, Debra Pruitt (Ron), Denise & Diane Reed, Leticia & Alicia Cazarez, numerous nephews and nieces, aunts & uncles. He is also survived by his Godson Nick Castaneda Jr. and honorary brother & sister Gilbert & Mary Ellen Hernandez. Jaime is preceded in death by his dad Richard H Reed, birth father Martin Cazarez, grandparents, aunts, uncles and a great niece. Jaime is deeply missed by many. May he rest in Paradise and reunite with those who went before him. Until we meet again!!! We will always love you!!
