Hortencia Andrade

With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of Hortencia Andrade (also known as "La Guerita"), 69, of Ivanhoe, California, who passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026. Hortencia lived a long and happy life filled with love, strength, kindness and an unwavering devotion to her family. Born on January 9, 1957, in Puruandiro, Michoacan, Hortencia was a dedicated wife and mother who gave absolutely everything for the well-being of her family. In 1970, Hortencia married Salud Andrade. They were married for 56 years, and together, they built a beautiful life and raised their seven children. If anything defined Hortencia, it was the aroma of her cooking. Her kitchen was the heart of our family. Her children, grandchildren, friends and strangers alike will always remember the sound of her pots and pans and the unmistakable flavor of all her dishes. For her, cooking was a language: a way of saying "I love you," of celebrating life and of caring for her loved ones and acquaintances. Hortencia is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Salud, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and memories. She was a proud and loving mother to her children, Marcos, Susana, Lupe, Raul, Jaime, Rogelio, and Jose, by whom she is lovingly remembered. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and many dear friends, all of whom will cherish the love, wisdom and countless memories she shared. She was preceded in death by Jose and Berula Almanza and Gisela Leon. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace and her love and memory will continue to guide and inspire us. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM Thursday, July 23rd, 2026 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Rosary will follow at 6:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial services will be held 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Friday, July 24th, 2026 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1908 N. Court St., Visalia. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Friday, July 24th, 2026 at Visalia District Cemetery, 1300 W Goshen Ave, Visalia. Services have been entrusted to Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel.
