Herminia Hinojosa

Herminia "Minnie" Hinojosa, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, in Tulare, California, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. Minnie was born on October 21, 1940, in Brownsville, Texas, to Daniel and Herminia Rodriguez. She was married to Andres Hinojosa, her beloved husband, who preceded her in death. Together they built a home filled with love and tradition - values Minnie carried with her every day of her life. To know Minnie was to feel welcomed. She was known for her gentle spirit, caring nature, and the warmth she extended to everyone who entered her home. Whether it was a planned visit or a surprise drop-in, Minnie would greet you with a hug and something hot from the stove. She had a gift for bringing people together over food and a warm conversation - her home was truly a haven. She loved spending time with her family more than anything else. Her greatest joy came from cheering on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events. She never missed a chance to be their biggest supporter. She lived her life in the service of others, with a quiet strength and deep devotion to the people she loved most. Minnie is survived by her children, Nora Macias and husband Jesse Macias, and Andy Hinojosa and wife Loretta Hinojosa; her grandchildren, Melody Azevedo, Steven Macias, Sabrina Hinojosa, and Jesse Macias; and her cherished great-grandchildren. Her presence will be deeply missed by many extended family members, friends, and all who had the blessing of knowing her. The family wishes to sincerely thank the caregivers, staff, and friends who lovingly cared for Minnie throughout the past year. Your compassion and dedication have been a great comfort to her and to all of us during this time. Visitation will be held 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Monday, August 4th, 2025 at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel, 127 E. Caldwell Ave., Visalia. Rosary will be held 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 954 S. O ST., Tulare. Mass of Christian Burial services will follow at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Tuesday, August 5th, 2025 at North Tulare Public Cemetery, 4572 North J. St., Tulare.
