Gurmit Singh Aujla

Gurmit Singh Aujla was born on January 12, 1932, in Amritsar, Punjab, and passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026. Surrounded by his cherished children, his son Jasjit Singh Aujla and daughter-in-law Navjot Aujla, and held in love, Gurmit's final moments reflected the same warmth and grace that defined a life so beautifully lived. Gurmit spent his childhood in Village Dheriwala, District Amritsar. He was the beloved child of Late Swaran Singh Aujla and Late Avtar Kaur Aujla. Gurmit pursued Masters in Economics at Khalsa College in Amritsar, ultimately building a meaningful career initially as a Professor of Economics and subsequently as an Executive Magistrate PCS Officer. Yet beyond achievements and titles, it was his character that left the greatest mark. He had a rare gift for making others feel seen, valued, and loved - whether through a thoughtful conversation, a warm laugh, or a quiet act of generosity. Family was the heart of Gurmit's world. He is preceded in passing by his brothers: Surjit Singh and Jagbir Singh. He shared a loving marriage with his late wife, Narinder Kaur Aujla, whose memory remained close to his heart throughout his life. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his children: Jasjit Singh Aujla and Damanjit Singh Aujla, daughter-in-laws: Navjot Aujla and Jaspreet Aujla, and grandchildren: Sumeet Aujla, Rubina Aujla, Gurneet Aujla, and Parampartap Aujla, sisters Sharanjit Sandhu and Parmjit Kaur, and a wide circle of relatives and friends who were blessed to share in his life. He found joy in gardening, home projects, cooking, walks in the park, weekly lunches with his friends, and a disciplined lifestyle; those moments are now treasured memories for all who knew him. Gurmit carried a quiet strength, sweet smile, and an ability to bring light to others, even in difficult times. His legacy lives on not only in the lives he touched, but in the values he instilled in his family - kindness, integrity, and the importance of cherishing every moment. Though deeply missed, Gurmit Singh Aujla will forever remain in our hearts - guiding us, inspiring us, and reminding us of the beauty of a life lived with love and a gentle spirit.
