Frank V Borba

Frank V. Borba, passed away surrounded by his family and went to meet his heavenly father on September 12, 2015 after fighting a battle with leukemia. Frank was born on April 11, 1927 in Goshen Calif., to Frank and Emilia Borba. At the age of 2 years old, his parents moved back to the Island of Terceira, Azores, and he lived there until he was 19 years old. Frank moved back to America with a dream of starting a family and owning his own dairy. With hard work and determination he had his first dairy in Winton, CA. Frank later moved to Southern California to work and start a dairy, and in 1953 he married Mercedes Aguiar. Frank and Mercedes moved their family and the family dairy from Chino, CA, to Visalia in 1971. Frank was in the dairy business for over 40 years, and would continue to work with cattle well into his retirement years. He is survived by and was much loved by his loving wife of 62 years, Mercedes Borba, daughter Emily Bony and her husband Mike; son Frank Borba III; son John and his wife Ann; daughter Rosemary Reeder and her husband Kevin; and his daughter, Linda Borba, 8 grandchildren: Johnny Borba and his fiancé Susan Hokanson; Kristy Maggard and her husband Matthew; Ashley Fuller and her husband Shawn; Jacob Reeder and Aubrie Reeder; Sharnay Teixeira and her husband Lizuarte; Gavin Tolbert and his fiancé, Kelsey Gubbins; and Michael Ward and his wife Carrie, 5 great grandchildren: Luke Borba, Wyatt and Logan Maggard, and Makayla and Savannah Ward. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins who he cared about deeply. Frank’s pride and joy was his family. Frank is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Emilia Borba, and his sisters, Mary Lourenco and Telvira Guilherme. Frank’s stories of his youth, his sense of humor and conversations will be forever cherished by his family and friends. We loved him for his passion for life and his love for all, including his four-legged companions. At the age of 88 years old, he never wanted to give up. His quiet strength and toughness throughout his illness will always be an inspiration to his family. A funeral mass will be held Saturday September 19, 2015, 10:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A rosary will be prayed Friday September 18, 2015, 6:00pm at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel. Visitation will held Friday 4-7pm at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel Frank’s family would like to thank the staff and his favorite nurses at the Sequoia Cancer Center, family members and friends for all their thoughts, prayers and concerns for our dad.
