Francis Santos Cajulis

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Francis Cajulis, who succumbed to cancer last Saturday morning, the 27th of June at 3:20 A.M. Francis was born in Cavite City, Philippines on February 28, 1974 . Francis was born to Mila and Reynaldo Cajulis, the seventh of seven siblings. He was raised in the Philippines, and concluded in higher education at De La Salle University with a specialization in Radiologic Technology. Francis and his wife Anna Cristina and children moved to Visalia 9 years ago, where he worked as a Cardiac Interventional Technologist at Kaweah Delta Hospital. Francis was appreciated by all of his co-workers, the medical and administrative staff of the hospital, and the patients he served with indefatigable dedication, care and love. Love is the best word to describe Francis: love of people, love of life; love of a good joke, love of laughing with family and friends; love of caring for people and for the birds he raised, love for good food that he was so expert at preparing and so willing and ready to share; love for his friends, love for his family and siblings, love for his mother who passed when he was still very young, love for his father, for whom he would not think twice of driving 300 miles just to go visit and have lunch with, love for his fantastic three sons, in whose eyes we see the strength of his faith in Christ, of his boundless warm love, and of his hope for life in the present and for ever. Love is the best word to describe Francis: not only the love we all had for him or the love he had for all of us, but the love he shared with his soulmate, his adorable wife Anna Cristina with whom we all now share tears of pain for his passing. Francis was more than just a friend, or just a family member to all of us. In his quiet way, with his heart in his hand, with his brilliant smile, Francis was our tower of strength in faith, our teacher of love, our master of hope. In the good moments as in the less good ones, in pain as in laughter and happiness, Francis was always a leader and showed all of us around him to recognize the beauty of the moment, the joy of life: to be aware of the presence of God. It is with profound sadness that we lost Francis, yet we recognize and are thankful that so many of our days were illumined by his presence and made lighter by the warmth of his smile. We are thankful to have had the honor and the immense joy to have had him part of our lives during the few years he lived among us on this earth. Truly, he left us too soon: 41 years old is much too soon; but, it is equally true that Francis was such a good man that he enriched all of us so during those years, and that he helped us all, individually, by his patience and his kindness, to trust more, to love more, to hope more: to grow into better human beings.
